Attitude, it makes all the difference
Attitude, position or posture of the body appropriate to or expressive of an action, emotion, etc.: a threatening attitude; a relaxed attitude.
In my opinion, Attitude, is one of the most important aspects that dictates success in trading and life. Attitude, the one thing that you can control in your daily life and something that the people you interact with will certainly notice. From a life perspective it is very important. Who wants to be around a “down” person? No one. Simple things like smiling, sitting up in your chair, engaging others are all very important. Never let someone spoil your fun (but be realistic). If you enjoy playing basketball and you get cut from your High School team maybe your dream of playing in the NBA should be rethought but that doesn’t mean you cannot find some where else to play and train to be the best you can be.
I can remember years ago when my older son was playing little league. He was about 7 and at that age the league still had 10-12 kids on the field along with a coach from each team. During the game one of our kids left a base early. Our coach told him just to go back to the base and explained the rule (I am sure the kid didn’t understand what he was talking about). This was not good enough for the other coach who proceeded to get quite agitated. Complaining to the umpire (who was a kid) and anyone else who would listen that the kid should be out, and that this was not the way the game “should be played”. Our player started to cry and the other kids from both teams were looking on in confusion and shock. After the game our coach called all the kids together and said something I have never forgotten.
“Never Let someone else spoil your fun”.
I use the line and attitude to this day. Although the other coach was correct about the baseball rule, it was not the correct time nor way to express the view. You do not want to look back in life and say I should have or could have. You want to say you did. The same thing in your professional life. People definitely notice your attitude, both physical and mental. My company recently was looking for trainees. We interviewed a lot of highly educated, motivated people. Trying to figure out who to hire was a difficult choice. One of the candidates we interviewed had a very firm handshake, and looked me in the eyes when talking to me. In a sea of candidates that look pretty similar those two qualities stood out. She got one of the job. The other went to a quiet laid back candidate who said to me “I will do everything necessary to be successful”. Neither candidate has disappointed but surprisingly to me the “laid back” candidate is far more aggressive and I see more potential in him. Time will tell.
From a work perspective remember to,
1 Sit up in your chair.
2 Engage other’s.
3 Get involved, this is very important (you do not get a second chance at today).
4 Be positive (the glass really is half full!).
5 Look for ways to improve (even for someone as perfect as me there is a little room to improve).
6 Smile and have fun. A few years ago I placed a piece of string around my left wrist to remind me to have fun on a vacation. The string ( my third or fourth edition of it) is still on my wrist today.
From a personal perspective please see above (rules for life are the same in and out of work).
Remember you only live once and as Bruce Springsteen says,
It ain’t no sin to be glad your alive.
Good Luck and Good Forex Trading.

Hi banker, nice post. You are dead right about attitude being vitally important. In many situations where there is a “maybe”, there is also a chance for someone to turn that “maybe” into a “definitely!”
In my work in the advertising industry here in L.A, budgets and deadlines are extremely tight, and employers only want people with a strong, positive attitude. You cannot allow yourself the luxury of being down, even for a single day, as the next person is already waiting to take your place.
Keep up the great blog - it is an inspiration to myself and I am sure a bunch of other readers as well.
